Our Pastor, Dennis L. Isbell, is a native of Toledo, Ohio. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he grew up and graduated from High School in 1976. He became a Christian in 1979 while serving in the United States Air Force. In 1980, he sensed the call to preach the gospel and began to seek training for his future ministry. During this time period he met and courted Debbie Lawrence of Abilene, Texas. They were married in 1981. Thereafter, he and his wife moved to Springfield, Missouri where they both attended the Baptist Bible College. He graduated from this institution in 1986. He has served as an associate pastor of two churches and senior pastor of one church prior to coming to Grace Baptist Temple in 1992. During his ministry in San Antonio, the church has had steady growth, the Church facilities have been relocated to a new area with new buildings, ministries have been added, and total giving has increased significantly. The Isbells are the parents of two daughters. Rebekah is married to Tim Sweeney, and they are the Youth Directors, here at Grace Baptist Temple. Heather is married to Greg Goodin, and are searching for a new place to serve the Lord. They have a grandson, Andrew, the son of Tim and Rebekah; a grandson Braxton, and a grandaughter Bryleigh, twins of Greg and Heather, born Nov. 11th. Bro Tim and Rebekah Sweeney are our Youth Directors.  They are here with a heart and a passion to see the youth department grow and to see them grow to be more like Christ.  Bro Tim accepted Christ as a teenager at Grace Baptist Temple, and now has a burden to reach the youth of San Antonio to show them the way to Christ.  Mrs. Rebekah was saved as a young child and spent most of her life working in the ministry alongside her parents, the pastor and pastor’s wife.  She has always considered Grace Baptist Temple San Antonio her home and is excited to be back working at Grace.  Bro Tim and Mrs Rebekah recently had an addition to their family.  Baby Andrew was born on June 17th of 2008.   On a final note the CrossWalk youth group is a fun interactive group with the heart of Christ and an eagerness to see souls saved.  We would appreciate if you could keep our youth group in your prayers as we go out and explain how to “deny ourselves, take up our crosses and follow Christ.”
